What You Need to Know

​Hi. My name is Najah Kimiko Bey.   I was born in Alameda which is right next to Oakland where currently my American family live in. At age of three, I moved to Fukuoka, Japan where my Japanese family live and where I spend most of my life. Although I spend most of my life in Fukuoka, Oakland and Fukuoka are both my “jomoto”( means local or hood in Japanese) . I created this website because I want more people to know about the cities I love. My goal is that more Japanese add Oakland (BayArea) as a their next travel destinations as well as I wanna more American people to visit Fukuoka.  Plus, I want to you guys to see this website as a “community” like hanging out and chatting  at a barbershop!

初めまして、私はナジャキミコベイと言います。私はアメリカのカリフォルニア州のオークランドのすぐ隣のアラメダという街で生まれて、3歳からお母さんの地元の福岡で育ちました。なので、人生のほとんどを福岡を過ごしましたが、オークランド、ベイエリア（サンフランシスコやバークレーなど湾を囲んだ地域全体を指す）も福岡もどちらも自分の地元と思っています。このサイトを作った理由は、自分が好きな、両方の街をもっとたくさんの人に知ってもらいたくてつくりました。私のゴールは、もっとたくさんの日本人の方たちが、オークランドやベイエリアを次の旅行先のチョイスとして来て楽しんでくれること。同じくもっとたくさんのアメリカ人や他の国の方に福岡を訪れてもらい、魅力感じてもらうことです。あとは、このサイトを通して２つの街のコミュニティーが様々な方面ぇ広がってほしいと願ってます。
